Three-week Summer Academy the Challenges of Sustainable Development is one of the most important educational events connected to sustainability in Poland. More than 350 people took part in it since 1998. Since the 12th edition we accept also participants from abroad.

The course is addressed to students and PhD students, researchers as well as representatives of the business, administration and NGO-sector from the Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltic Sea Region. The programme includes: lectures, debates, workshops, simulation games, country activities and practical projects in the domain of sustainable development.

The program has its focus on the sustainable development: explanation of the concept, theory from different perspectives and practical workshops and projects. The course includes also additional activities which integrates the group such as dance classes or hiking.


A successful applicant should:

  • be a student, PhD student or have interest in the subject;
  • have different areas and specialties (nature protection and environmental engineering, architecture, management, economic sciences, agriculture, biology, ecology, arts, history, journalism);
  • have fluency in English.


60 people will be selected during phase 1 and they will be invited to participate in the 2nd part of the e-learning course — Applications of sustainable development.

28 persons that will show us their motivation to take part in the ChoSD course and a high level of engagement will be granted a scholarship to take part for free.


Master’s degree in POLITICAL AND INTERNATIONAL STUDIES: Focus on INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC AND TRADE RELATIONS (2012 – 2013 academic year; Macerata, Italy)

Founded in 1290, the University of Macerata – one of the eldest European Academies with its 722-year long history – is a State University that covers all major social and humanistic subjects: education & training, law, literature, philosophy, history, economics, finance, cultural heritage, political science, social science & communications. The University of Macerata offers first level degree courses and specialized degree courses as well as master courses and PhD programs.

The Master‘s degree in Political and International Studies is a two-year course intended to provide graduates with the theoretical, conceptual and methodological depth knowledge of the current system of international economic and trade relations. It is entirely taught in English and it is specifically designed for students who wish to deepen the knowledge of economic and trade relations within the fields of legal, economic and management areas, with specific reference to Eastern Europe and Far East countries.


A successful applicant should:

  • have a Bachelor’s degree or a higher degree;
  • have fluency in English, which will be proved by English certificate;
  • be interested and have sufficient background for the program.


There are scholarships available for foreign students based on merit and CVs. Each year scholarships and tuition waivers will be made available from local sponsors.
